Dr. Yi Shao is a Chief Physician, Associate Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor. He currently serves as the Director of the Department of Urinary Calculi and Upper Urinary Tract Reconstruction at Shanghai General Hospital. He is also a Doctoral Supervisor at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and a Master's Supervisor at both Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Nanjing Medical University. Dr. Shao was a Visiting Scholar at the Cleveland Clinic in the USA and has been recognized as a "Shanghai Pujiang Talent."
He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of urinary system stones (including kidney, ureteral, bladder, and urethral stones) and urinary tract infections, with a particular focus on minimally invasive urology surgeries. He has extensive clinical experience in the comprehensive treatment, prevention, and minimally invasive management of complex urinary stones. Dr. Shao performs over 1,000 minimally invasive surgeries for kidney and ureteral stones annually, utilizing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols and day surgery models to benefit his patients.
