Reproductive Medicine (生殖医学科)： The Department of Reproductive Medicine at Peking University Third Hospital is a globally recognized leader and one of the largest and most comprehensive reproductive health research centers worldwide. It was the earliest team in China to conduct research on reproductive endocrinology, achieving domestic leadership and international excellence in certain areas. This department holds a significant place in China's medical history, having pioneered the first and second test-tube babies in mainland China, as well as the first donor egg IVF. Affiliated with the Reproductive Health Research Center of Peking University Health Science Center, established in 2016, the department is directed by Academician Jie Qiao, a key figure in the field. Obstetrics and Gynecology (妇产科)： The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a National Clinical Research Center for Obstetric and Gynecologic Diseases and a National Quality Control Center for Obstetrics. Established in 1958, it boasts a team of leading experts, including a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, along with other distinguished scholars. The department offers comprehensive sub-specialties with leading technology, some of which are considered internationally top-tier.

It handles an impressive volume of cases annually, with over 412,000 outpatient and emergency visits, more than 13,000 surgeries, over 20,000 discharges, and over 6,000 births, ranking first among comprehensive hospitals in Beijing. The department was recently approved for the 2024 National Clinical Key Specialty Construction Project.

Orthopedics (骨科)： The Department of Orthopedics is recognized as a national key discipline and an Innovative Team designated by the Ministry of Education. It is considered one of the strongest in spinal surgery in China. The department has a distinguished history, having completed numerous world-first and China-first surgical procedures. It was also among the earliest institutions in China to perform artificial joint surgeries and engage in animal experimental research. As a "王牌科室" (ace department), it attracts countless patients seeking its expertise. In 2018 alone, the Orthopedics department performed over 11,000 surgeries and had nearly 140,000 outpatient visits.

Respiratory Medicine (呼吸内科)： The Department of Respiratory Medicine (Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine) is a national clinical key specialty that integrates medical care, research, and education. It was honored as an Excellent Unit in the Standardized Construction of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine in 2018. The department excels in the clinical and research fields of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), having formed an internationally influential COPD research team. Cardiology (心血管内科)： The Department of Cardiology maintains a first-class level in China, particularly excelling in coronary intervention, cardiac rehabilitation, and the coordinated development of clinical and basic cardiovascular research. It is also home to a National Clinical Key Specialty Project in Cardiovascular Molecular Biology and Regulatory Peptides. Neurology (神经内科)： Established in 1958, the Department of Neurology specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of motor neuron diseases (ALS) and is renowned for its work in cerebrovascular and neurogenetic disorders. It has built the largest and internationally leading ALS patient cohort and sample database in China. It was also among the first in the country to offer clinical genetic diagnosis for hereditary peripheral neuropathies and to establish a neuroelectrophysiology lab. The department's original research includes innovative neuroelectrophysiology techniques for ALS, with its sternocleidomastoid and rectus abdominis EMG methods adopted by international ALS diagnostic standards. Sports Medicine (运动医学科)： The Department of Sports Medicine is notable as the earliest and only athlete injury prevention and treatment center designated by the Chinese Olympic Committee. It also served as a designated medical hospital for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics. The department possesses extensive experience and advanced technology in diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating sports injuries. It specializes in joint sports injuries such as ACL tears, meniscus injuries, and shoulder rotator cuff tears, as well as degenerative joint diseases like osteoarthritis. Established in 1959, the Sports Medicine Institute is considered one of the hospital's "王牌科室" (ace departments).
