Pediatric Cardiology (小儿心血管科) This department specializes in diagnosing and treating various pediatric heart diseases, including congenital heart diseases and arrhythmias, utilizing advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques. Xinhua Hospital is notably one of the few hospitals in China capable of performing cardiac surgery on newborns, including the transposition of great vessels. The upcoming Fengxian campus is planned to feature a dedicated Heart and Great Vessels Center.

Pediatric Hematology - Oncology (小儿血液肿瘤科) The department is expert in addressing pediatric blood diseases such as leukemia and anemia, as well as pediatric tumors, offering comprehensive treatments including chemotherapy and transplantation. Xinhua Hospital is recognized for its strong pediatrics focus and houses the Shanghai Institute for Pediatric Research.

Pediatric Neurology (小儿神经内科) This specialty is skilled in treating neurological disorders in children, such as epilepsy and cerebral palsy, providing professional medical teams and advanced therapies.

Pediatric Surgery (小儿外科) Focused on the surgical treatment of pediatric diseases, this department handles conditions like congenital malformations and tumors, demonstrating high-level surgical skills. Xinhua Hospital has innovatively integrated its fetal medicine, neonatology, and pediatrics into the nation's first Fetal Hospital, aiming to provide continuous healthcare services for babies from the embryonic stage up to 2 years of age. This integrated approach encompasses fetal disease screening, diagnosis, intrauterine intervention, after-birth treatment, and long-term follow-up management for children's health. This service is available at the hospital's headquarters in Yangpu District, and its new branch in Fengxian District is also planned to offer this specialized care. Pediatric Surgery (小儿外科) is also listed as a specialized clinic for international patients.

Obstetrics and Gynecology (妇产科) This department provides comprehensive services for pregnancy, childbirth, and various gynecological diseases, including endometriosis and gynecological tumors. Beyond general services, the hospital also offers fertility treatment options such as Artificial Insemination and In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). It is important to note the hospital's specific policies for birthing: patients labor and deliver in separate rooms, and private labor, delivery, and recovery (LDR) rooms are not available. Additionally, the hospital does not support VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean), and birthing coaches, spouses, friends, or translators are not permitted in the delivery room during delivery. The new Fengxian campus will specifically focus on critical and severe cases in women and children.

Emergency Medicine (急诊科) The Emergency Department promptly responds to emergencies, providing efficient first-aid treatment for critically ill patients. It is important to note that Xinhua Hospital does not offer a dedicated 24/7 English emergency service; emergency situations are handled by the general Emergency Department. In 2011, Xinhua Hospital's accident and emergency unit received a very high volume of 3.3 million patients, which was the highest in Shanghai.

Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery (耳鼻咽喉 - 头颈外科) This department specializes in treating diseases of the ear, nose, throat, and head-neck area, including conditions like otitis media, sinusitis, and head-neck tumors. A team from Xinhua Hospital, led by Yang Jun, won a Second Prize at the 2022 Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Award for their "Study on refined inner ear function assessment and its clinical applications". Dr. LYU Jingrong serves as the Teaching Director of this department at Shanghai Xinhua Hospital, which is recognized as a national key clinical specialty, leading the pediatric laryngology and head and neck subspecialty. His clinical expertise includes minimally invasive surgical treatment for pediatric adenoid hypertrophy, tonsillar hypertrophy, and secretory otitis media, as well as surgical treatment for congenital neck masses in children and various benign and malignant laryngeal tumors. Dr. ZHU Zhengjie, also a Director in Xinhua Hospital's ENT department, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric and adult obstructive sleep apnea syndrome and various ENT endoscopic operations.

Medical Checkup Center (体检中心) This center provides comprehensive health check-up services. It is also referred to as the Health Management Center.
