Jun Ma, male, 45 years old, M.D., Ph.D. He is an Associate Chief Physician in the Department of Spine Surgery at Shanghai General Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He graduated from the Clinical Medicine department of the Second Military Medical University in 2002. He later studied for his Master's and Doctoral degrees under Professor Lianshun Jia and Professor Xuhui Zhou. After graduation, he worked in the front line of spine surgery at the Department of Orthopedics, Shanghai Changzheng Hospital for many years. He now works in the Department of Spine Surgery at Shanghai General Hospital (North Hongkou Campus).
He is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of common and complex diseases in spine surgery. He performs more than 150 various spine surgeries annually as the chief surgeon, possessing rich clinical experience in diagnosing and treating cervical spondylosis, lumbar spine diseases, spinal deformities, and spinal trauma. He is skilled in performing routine spine surgeries such as scoliosis correction, posterior lumbar decompression with fusion and internal fixation, anterior cervical decompression with fusion and internal fixation, posterior cervical decompression with fusion and internal fixation, and posterior cervical laminoplasty. He specializes in minimally invasive transforaminal endoscopic surgery for various lumbar diseases.
