China vs Singapore vs Thailand Health Checkups: 11 Packages Compared
By MedBridgeNZ · International patient coordinationProvider information checked: 27 September 2026. Prices and terms may change; sources and comparison method appear below.
If you’re comparing China vs Singapore vs Thailand health checkups, start with the price you can actually book as a visitor. You find a health checkup that fits your travel dates. The price looks manageable. Then you reach the booking page and realise the offer may depend on your passport, the version you choose, or whether you can stay long enough to discuss the results.
That is where a comparison of China, Singapore and Thailand gets interesting. We looked at 11 specific packages, from basic blood tests to programs with imaging. The first decision is less glamorous than choosing the longest test list: can you book the advertised package at the advertised price?
For the three Shanghai offers below, MedBridgeNZ has checked its provider sheets and confirmed that the quoted offers apply to short-term foreign visitors. ATA Medical explicitly addresses tourists on its website. The Raffles pages we reviewed leave visitor pricing unanswered. Two Bangkok Hospital prices are Thai-national offers, so a foreign visitor needs a separate quote. Bumrungrad publishes an international self-pay example, subject to its booking terms. These are findings about the listed packages, not verdicts on which country offers the best healthcare.
If China is already on your shortlist, compare its provider packages and city options. This article puts those choices beside offers in Singapore and Thailand.

First, find out which price is yours
Currency conversion takes seconds. Checking whether the resulting figure applies to you takes longer.
ATA Medical says tourists and foreigners can undergo its screening packages at the same prices as other customers. The Raffles Medical pages cited here publish prices, but do not say whether those figures apply to a short-term visitor. That remains a question for Raffles, not a reason to assume the price will change.
Bangkok Hospital is clearer, though its English listings alone might not alert you. Its Thai-language annual package terms say “ราคาดังกล่าวเฉพาะคนไทยเท่านั้น”—the listed prices are for Thai nationals only. The Superior and Prestige figures in our table should therefore never be used as foreign-visitor quotes. This restriction concerns the advertised price; it does not establish that the hospital cannot see foreign visitors.
China vs Singapore vs Thailand health checkups: 11 package prices
All figures are in the provider's original currency. This is a selection of package versions, not a countrywide price survey or a ranking of clinical quality. The short labels in the final column describe the evidence available for that listed price; they are not booking guarantees.

How to read the price labels: The three Shanghai prices come from provider documents held by MedBridgeNZ and confirmed for short-term foreign visitors; they are not independently published visitor tariffs. ATA addresses tourists expressly. For Raffles, we have no published answer to the visitor-price question. Bumrungrad's terms apply to patients paying the hospital directly, but an individual booking still needs confirmation. The two Bangkok Hospital promotional prices must be left out of a foreign visitor's budget. For any row, request the current price for your exact age, sex, location, passport and travel date before paying.
ATA describes Noble as “popular for” ages 20–30 and Royal as “popular for” people aged 40 and over. That wording alone does not establish a hard age cutoff. Ask about age eligibility if either package interests you.
Each Shanghai price in this table belongs to a particular package version. You can compare SinoUnited's other packages or see how Jiahui's options differ by age and sex. With Distinct, the city and choice of gynaecological tests also matter; its women's package matrix shows those versions side by side.
Read the small words beside the tests
A long menu can give the impression that every test is included. Raffles Advanced (Men), for example, includes a chest X-ray and one ultrasound, chosen from abdomen, prostate or thyroid. ATA Royal includes one additional option from a menu that spans tests and scans. Choosing one is quite different from receiving them all.
Distinct HealthCare's women's matrix has another layer: both the city and the version affect the list, including whether dedicated gynaecological tests are included. Where its matrix says “one of two,” the two named imaging options are alternatives. Write down the exact version and the option you would choose before comparing its price with another offer.
The medical decision is separate. A clinician who knows your circumstances can advise whether a test is appropriate; the size of a package does not answer that question.
The appointment may end before your report is ready
If you are travelling for only a few days, this part can matter more than another scan. Blood tests, imaging interpretation and a discussion of the completed results may happen on different days. A short clinic visit tells you how long the examination takes, not when every report will be available.
There is also a difference between meeting a doctor at the start and speaking to one after all the results are in. Raffles Classic lists a doctor consultation and examination; Raffles Lifestyle additionally lists a post-examination review. The Classic page does not list a later review. Ask what can be arranged if you want one, and whether it has a separate fee.
Could you fly home the evening of your checkup? You might be able to finish the physical tests that day. Plan the flight around the provider's preparation instructions and your own circumstances, and arrange in advance how you will receive the final results and discuss anything that needs attention. The reports may follow you home.
Raffles says it emails its screening report to the registered address. ATA describes several stages of reporting for visitors. Bumrungrad discusses digital access and a typical reporting timeframe in its general guide; that is not a guaranteed timetable for an individual Executive appointment. For the package you actually intend to buy, ask for the expected timing of the full laboratory results, imaging report and summary, and find out which documents will be in English.
If you have imaging, ask whether you can obtain the original image files in DICOM, the standard format used to store medical scans. A PDF report describes the findings; it is different from the images themselves. Check whether there is a charge or a separate request process, and how a doctor at home could securely access the files. If the report and original images both matter to you, use our checklist for English reports and DICOM from China.
For what may happen after you return home, read how to use screening results from China with your doctor.
A cheaper package can still make for a costly trip
If Shanghai is already on your itinerary, a checkup might add local transport, an appointment and perhaps another night. If you are flying specifically for screening, count the flight and accommodation as part of the trip. A hospital price alone cannot settle the comparison.
Add up the price available to you, optional tests you actually choose, any extra stay needed for the appointment, and any separately quoted support. Count only the costs added to a trip you were already taking; count the whole journey if you would travel solely for the checkup. Leave room for exchange-rate changes, bank charges and cancellation terms.
To see how flights, extra nights and separately charged support can change the total, work through our full-trip health checkup budget guide.
More tests need a better reason than “more”
Tumour markers—substances measured in blood or other samples that can sometimes help clinicians assess cancer—appear on some checkup menus. Their presence does not make a package a stronger general cancer screen. The US National Cancer Institute explains that circulating tumour markers have generally performed poorly for screening people without symptoms: some cancers may be missed, while some results suggest cancer where none is present. Ask a qualified clinician what a proposed test could tell you and how an unclear result would be followed up.
If a package lists tumour markers, our guide to tumour markers in China health checkups explains what those tests may—and may not—add.
If a whole-body scan is on your list too, read what whole-body MRI in China can and cannot tell a healthy person.
If you have new symptoms or an earlier abnormal result, tell the provider before booking a routine checkup. Its clinical team can advise whether a diagnostic appointment would fit your situation better.
Send one useful enquiry before you pay
You do not need to guess how a clinic handles foreign passports or reports. A short written enquiry can answer the questions that the price page cannot:
I am a short-term visitor travelling on a [passport country] passport. I am considering [exact package and version] at [location] on [date]. Please confirm the total price available to me, including any doctor fees and taxes, and send the current list of included tests and choices. When should the complete laboratory and imaging reports be ready? Which documents will be in English, and how can I access them from abroad? If imaging is included, can I obtain the original image files? Is a review of the completed results included, and what would cost extra if follow-up is needed?
Add your age and any other eligibility details the chosen package requires. Keep the clinic's reply with your booking confirmation.
Start with the price you can actually pay. Then check the exact tests, the final-report timetable and who will go through the results with you. Those answers can narrow the shortlist faster than converted price tags.
If you are considering screening in China, MedBridgeNZ can help coordinate a provider enquiry, clarify current package information, arrange an appointment and assist with translation or travel logistics when requested. The healthcare provider handles clinical questions and medical decisions. Any MedBridgeNZ coordination fee is quoted separately from the provider's package price. Send MedBridgeNZ a health screening enquiry with your preferred city, approximate dates and the price, report or booking detail you want clarified.

Public overseas provider pages were checked on 27 September 2026. Chinese prices and items come from original provider quotation sheets and a city matrix held by MedBridgeNZ. In September 2026, MedBridgeNZ confirmed that the quoted Shanghai offers remained available to short-term foreign visitors. MedBridgeNZ helps coordinate enquiries and appointments with Chinese providers featured here and may charge separately for coordination; this comparison does not rank clinical quality. Listed prices are in the provider's currency, and services missing from a cited package description may be available separately. No unpublished customer-service reply or individual result-delivery guarantee is assumed.
