Personal Biography
Dr. Chunchao Zhu is a Chief Physician, PhD, and Master's Supervisor at Renji Hospital. He serves as the Administrative Deputy Director of the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery and the Executive Director of the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery at the South Campus. He received his Master's degree in Clinical Medicine (2008) and his PhD in Surgery (2016) from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. From 2016 to 2017, he was a visiting scholar at Seoul National University Hospital, Korea, where he studied under Professor Yang Han-kwang, a leading authority in gastric cancer treatment in Asia, focusing on standardized and minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Zhu has extensive clinical and research experience in gastrointestinal malignancies. He specializes in surgery and comprehensive postoperative treatment for gastric and colorectal cancers, as well as function-preserving surgery for early-stage gastric cancer, having managed over a thousand such cases. He has published over 20 SCI papers and 10 articles in Chinese core journals, and leads several research grants, including projects from the National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC) and the Shanghai Natural Science Foundation.
