Personal Biography

Dr. Yunchao Shao is an Associate Chief Physician, Assistant to the Director of the Department of Orthopedics, and Deputy Director of Joint Surgery at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University. He also serves as the Academic Deputy Director of Orthopedics at Zhongshan Hospital's Minhang branch. He graduated from the former Shanghai Medical University in 1993 and began working at Zhongshan Hospital in 1995 after completing his master's degree.

 

He earned his Ph.D. in 2003. Dr. Shao has pursued advanced training internationally, including trauma orthopedics in the UK (2004), hip and knee arthroplasty in Canada (2010), and specialized courses in Hong Kong (2010), the UK (2012), Australia (2014), and the USA (2014, 2016), focusing on minimally invasive techniques, revision surgeries, and DAA (Direct Anterior Approach) hip replacements. He is dedicated to enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols. With over 20 years of clinical experience, he is skilled in managing complex cases, including patients with multiple internal medicine comorbidities.
