Dr. Xiaowu Xu is a distinguished Chief Physician and Professor in the Department of Pancreatic Surgery at Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center (FUSCC). He currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Department of Pancreatic Surgery and the Director of the Center for Minimally Invasive Pancreatic Surgery.

Dr. Xu studied under Professor Mou Yiping, a renowned expert in minimally invasive surgery in China, and was among the pioneers to perform various laparoscopic pancreatic and gastrointestinal surgeries in the country. Before joining FUSCC in 2018 as a high-level talent introduction, he served as an Associate Chief Physician in General Surgery at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (affiliated with Zhejiang University School of Medicine) and as the Deputy Director of Gastrointestinal and Pancreatic Surgery at Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital.

He leads a team that performs over 800 pancreatic surgeries annually, with more than 80% being minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Xu is particularly renowned for his expertise in function-preserving minimally invasive surgeries for benign and low-grade malignant pancreatic tumors.
