Personal Biography

Dr. Wang is an Associate Chief Physician and holds a medical doctorate. He was a visiting scholar at the University of New South Wales, Australia. Dr. Wang graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in 2008 and has been working at Ruijin Hospital for nearly 20 years. He currently serves as a guiding physician and responsible mentor for the standardized residency training program at Ruijin Hospital's surgical base. Annually, he completes approximately 500 minimally invasive urological surgeries (laparoscopic/robotic) for conditions such as bladder cancer, kidney cancer, renal pelvis/ureteral cancer, prostate cancer, adrenal tumors, and stones.

He is particularly skilled in the individualized and precise treatment of bladder cancer, including comprehensive bladder-sparing therapies and various urinary diversion and reconstruction surgeries (such as orthotopic neobladder and ileal conduit) after cystectomy. To date, he has been involved in the treatment of over 3,000 bladder cancer patients, accumulating extensive experience in surgical and perioperative management. He has pioneered several of the most complex and difficult surgeries in urology at his department, including the first robotic-assisted totally laparoscopic radical cystectomy with ileal conduit and orthotopic ileal neobladder procedures. He was awarded the titles of "Advanced Teacher" and "Advanced Individual" at Ruijin Hospital in 2018 and won the championship in the National Young and Middle-aged Urologists Clinical Skills Competition in 2019. In 2022, he demonstrated a totally laparoscopic radical cystectomy with ileal conduit at the Oriental International Surgery Week.
